Princess Party

My 6 year old daughter asked for another Princess Party.  This time I told myself I wasn't going to go overboard like I did a couple years ago, but that wasn't to be.  I found a picture of a princess party on pinterest, and said "That's what I want to"... then that just sent me over the edge to crazy town!

I loved the light pink and white colors, the boxes, just very dainty and pretty.  This is what I ended up with... a bit more pink than I had planned on, but I still liked it.

I loved the Rapunzel cake the most.  My mother likes to bake, and has done several cakes over the years.  She has never used fondant, so her Rapunzel cake wasn't as nice as the other one, but still loved it and most of all, the kids loved it too!

The top of Rapunzel's body came from Joanne Fabrics, a special 'top half only' doll made to be inserted into cakes like this. However, Rapunzel's head actually came from my little girl's doll.

The little Rapunzel cake was made for one of the little girls that is allergic to eggs, so my mom made a special one for her that was egg free.  Turned out really good, and I made the little girl feel special to have her own cake.

Most of the table ware came from the dollar store.  The glass-looking clear plastic trays, tongs, etc were from there.  Got the pink plates, table cloths, napkins, from there too.  I had the glass slipper name holders from Party City.  We rented the white chairs from a local business.  I forgot where I got the little plastic wine glasses from, and doilies under the plates.  The pink and green boxes were from the dollar store too. They gave height to the table too.

Food
Pink was the color of the day.  We had pink popcorn (the big hit!) In the pictures the popcorn looks more yellow than it did in person), pink rice krispie treats, princess cookies, fruit kabobs

Pink chocolate candies, Strawberry whoppers, marshmallow sticks, pastel mints

Pink rock candy, strawberry wafers, heart shaped sandwiches (cream cheese & jam, with pink powered sugar on top)

My daughter and some of her friends sitting down to chow down.  Also had pink punch which my daughter drank all of before we really got started!

In the other room, for decorations, I found some leftover pink and white tulle, so I tied the ends together and hung it from the corners of the room, and you can't see it in the picture, but I added some pink flowers inside the white tulle.

We had a craft table setup so they could decorate their own crowns and door knob hangers.

We also had one of the mothers do a make-up station where the girls could get glitterfied!  She did a great job!

After the party games were done, I sent the girls outside to blow bubbles (bought a 24 back of wedding bubbles from Hobby Lobby and tied pink ribbons around the bottles).

And here's most of the princesses, minus my daughter who decided she didn't want her picture taken (grrrr....)
All in all the party was a great success, but boy am I wore out!
